Upcoming Product Info- Sun/Moon Reprint, Marnie and more!

We've been getting details over the last several days about the upcoming products being released by Pokemon over the next couple months. Here's what we can share with you now!

First up is the new Marnie Premium Tournament Collection, releasing August 6th. This new box will feature the Full Art Marnie card featured in the Japanese release of Shiny Star V, which our Shining Fates set missed out on. This will make Marnie a black star promo card instead of a Secret Rare and a lot easier to find in English!

This box will also contain:

  • Four foil promos
  • Seven booster packs
  • A Marnie deck box
  • A Marnie coin
  • 65 Marnie card sleeves
  • Two condition markers
  • Six damage counter dice

Two of the foil promos will be the Marnie card shown above, plus another card featuring Marnie and Morpeko (from the front of the box). We don't know which packs will be in the box yet, but I'd venture a guess that it's likely to contain at least some Chilling Reign as the most recent set upon its release. We'll update you as we get more info!

Next up we have more info on the Sun/Moon reprint! No longer just a rumour, we do have confirmation that Pokemon anticipates to release this product as a very limited run reprint of ETBs, possibly releasing as soon as June 15. We do know that at least one distributor in Canada will be having these available, but we can't confirm whether or not we at Dark Fox TCG will be able to get any allocated to us yet. The Sun Moon reprint gives you a chance to pull Espeon and Umbreon Full Arts/ Rainbows, Full Art Lillie, and Secret Rare Metal and Psychic Energies among other great cards.

Some very limited information about Evolving Skies has also been released, including the anticipated release date of August 27th. This set will feature cards from Japan's currently insanely popular Eevee Heroes, but also appears to feature Rayquaza which the Japanese equivalent does not. However, we just learned that Japan is expecting two new set releases on July 9th called "Sky Stream" And "Towering Perfection." If you've played Ruby, Sapphire or Emerald you'll know that the Sky Pillar is where you find Rayquaza, so these sets seem to be hinting at having some Rayquaza cards in them. We don't have a ton of officially-confirmed information other than that, and the previous blog post which featured some of the confirmed Japanese Eevee Heroes cards.

We've also recently found out about the 2021 Pokemon Trainer's Toolkit releasing August 6th. While the previous one featured Dedenne as a key card to help make competitive staples more widely accessible, this time around they will be featuring Crobat V! We've had a ton of Crobat V reprints this year as Pokemon has clearly learned from their $100 Shaymin EX days and is looking to make it easier for new players to join competitive play.

The Pokémon TCG: Trainer’s Toolkit includes:

  • More than 50 useful cards to power up your decks, including dozens of Trainer cards and 2 copies of Crobat V
  • More than 100 Energy cards, including Special Energy
  • 4 Pokémon TCG booster packs to expand your collection
  • 65 card sleeves to protect your deck
  • A Deck Builder’s Guide
  • A complete Pokémon TCG rulebook
  • A set of 7 tournament-legal dice
  • 2 condition markers
  • A code card for the Pokémon TCG Online

Lastly, we're now getting information on a new collection box- Calyrex Ice and Shadow Rider, releasing August 6th. It will contain:
1 Foil Promo Card
1 Foil Oversize Card
4 Pokemon TCG Booster Packs, 2 of which are likely to be Chilling Reign
1 Code card for the Pokemon TCG Online

So there you have it! Tons of new product in the works, with several coming out August 6th. We should have most of these available in store at Dark Fox, 730 Upper James in Hamilton, but we do not currently have confirmed allocation numbers, and they are all heavily allocated at the moment. Also keep in mind that Pokemon can change release dates, contents, or just change their plans at any time, but we will keep you updated as new info comes out!
