Spirit Hosts are terrifying manifestations of death and despair, conjured from the ethereal essence of the Mortal Realms by the sinister magic of Nagash, the Supreme Lord of the Undead. These spectral entities are comprised of countless tormented souls, bound together in an insubstantial form that flickers and shifts like smoke in the wind.
Appearing as ghostly apparitions clad in tattered burial shrouds, Spirit Hosts exude an aura of dread that chills the hearts of even the bravest warriors. They glide effortlessly across the battlefield, passing through solid obstacles as if they were not there, and striking fear into the hearts of their enemies with their eerie moans and wails.
In battle, Spirit Hosts are relentless and implacable foes, their ghostly claws and ethereal touch capable of slicing through flesh and bone with ease. They are nigh impossible to harm with physical weapons, as their incorporeal forms render them immune to all but the most potent magical attacks. To face a Spirit Host is to face death itself, for once ensnared in their grasp, there is little hope of escape.
Driven by an insatiable hunger for souls, Spirit Hosts are drawn to areas of great suffering and death, where they can feed upon the lingering echoes of anguish and despair. They are often found haunting graveyards, battlefields, and other places steeped in tragedy, where they prey upon the living and the dead alike, adding their restless spirits to their ever-growing ranks.
